Shed & Sweeney Earn All-American Honors, Hobart Finishes in Top 20

JR QB Shane Sweeney earned Honorable Mention and JR WR Brandon Shed earned 1st Team All-American awards from D3football.com last Friday night before the Stagg Bowl D3 National Championship game (which #1 University of Mary Hardin Baylor won by a score of 10-7 over #4 UW-Oshkosh). These two Statesmen joined three other Liberty League players (two from SLU and one from WPI) who earned spots on these All-American squads.

A link to the 2016 All-American team can be seen here.

Hobart's 9-2 season was good enough to earn them the 19th position on the Final 2016 Top 25. With Sweeney and Shed (and many others) coming back in 2017, a preseason Top 25 for the Statesmen is highly likely next fall.

A link to the final poll can be seen here.

Thanks to everyone for following and reading the blog this season. It's hard to believe we're encroaching 150K views. I'd like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season and New Year.

I'll be back "Comin' Atcha" with more Statesmen news and insights in 2017.

Thanks for reading and go 'Bart!
