WellsvilleDaily.com reports that Scott McMorris, a 5' 11" 225 lb linebacker intends to enroll at Hobart this fall. The Rochester area student-athlete has been named to multiple area All-Star teams. Scott intends to major in pre-med at HWS.

Remembering Douger
News came in this weekend regarding the passing of HWS's Head of Sports Medicine, Doug Reeland, who had been struggling with cancer. Doug had served the Colleges since 1978, so if you were an athlete at any point in time in the past 33 years, your paths' probably crossed.
No arrangements have been posted to date, but I expect to see something in the next day or so. A recent picture of Doug is posted on the HWS.edu website (under "This Week in Photos" with the 1981 Hobart National Championship team that was honored back on 4/16). A link to the same is attached below:

Columbia High's Mcgriff to Play Football at Hobart
Steve Tober of Sidelinechatter.com reports that Columbia High School (NJ)'s senior co-captain Matt Mcgriff will attend Hobart this fall.
Mcgriff is a 5' 10" 185lb fullback / linebacker that helped lead Columbia to a 9-1, 7-0 conference record this past fall. Mcgriff averaged 10 tackles per game and rushed 31 times for 211 yards and four TDs for the Cougars.

Fairfield Warde's 3-Sport Standout Coming to Hobart
The CT Post reports that Alex Delany of Fairfield Warde High School will be coming to Hobart this fall. The 5' 7" 190 lb RB and SS will look to continue his academic and athletic career as a Statesman.
Delany had a career night back on October 1 when he ran for 234 yards, scoring on long runs of 58 and 74 yards in the first quarter, en route to a 31-7 Mustang win over Bassick.
Delany is also a standout in wrestling, finishing in second in Class LL (the largest school division in the state of CT), third at the FCIAC championships and fifth at the State Open in the 171-pound weight class. Delany posted season record of 43-12 and holds career record of 115-40 for the Mustang wrestling team.
Oh yeah, Alex also stars on the Mustang lacrosse team as a long stick middie. Attached below is a picture from 2009 when Alex was named MVP of the annual Fairfield Thanksgiving Day game.

New Jersey Football Star to Join Statesmen
According to North Jersey.com's Doug Scancarella, Wayne Valley's Andrew DeFillipis has committed to becoming a Hobart Statesmen this fall.
Andrew, who played both OT and MLB for the Indians intends to be a pre-med major at Hobart. DeFillipis led the team in tackles in both his JR (82) and SR (128) seasons.
He was also recently named team MVP and will join another Wayne Valley classmate (not identified yet but I'll track him down eventually ;) in Geneva as part of the Class of 2015.

Hastings Tackle to Become a Statesman
Another scoop from Section1Recruiting.com is that Ali Marpet, an OT/DT from Hastings, is going to Hobart in the fall. The 6' 3" 250lb tackle helped pave the way for Yellow Jackets runners to the tune of a 6-3 season. Marpet also racked up 34 tackles and 6 sacks according to MaxPreps.com en route to being named a second team Class B NY All-State defensive player:

NY All-State Defensive Lineman Signs with Statesmen
Tyre Coleman, a Section 1 Class A NY All-State DL from Poughkeepsie, has committed to play for Hobart in this fall according to Section1Recruiting.com. The 6' 1" 235lb defensive and tight end helped lead the Pioneers to a 6-3 season averaging 9 tackles and 1 sack per game according to Max Preps:

Hobart adds Sunshine State prospect to its fall roster
Northeast High's Dominque Ellis will be coming to play football at Hobart this fall. The FB/LB helped lead his team to second place finish in Class 5A, District 9 FL HS football championships.
The St. Petersburg native will be the third from Florida to play for the Statesmen next year (SO FB Juan O'Farrill and SO OL Michael Green being the others...they are from West Palm Beach and Clearwater, respectively).
