The CT Post reports that Alex Delany of Fairfield Warde High School will be coming to Hobart this fall. The 5' 7" 190 lb RB and SS will look to continue his academic and athletic career as a Statesman.
Delany had a career night back on October 1 when he ran for 234 yards, scoring on long runs of 58 and 74 yards in the first quarter, en route to a 31-7 Mustang win over Bassick.
Delany is also a standout in wrestling, finishing in second in Class LL (the largest school division in the state of CT), third at the FCIAC championships and fifth at the State Open in the 171-pound weight class. Delany posted season record of 43-12 and holds career record of 115-40 for the Mustang wrestling team.
Oh yeah, Alex also stars on the Mustang lacrosse team as a long stick middie. Attached below is a picture from 2009 when Alex was named MVP of the annual Fairfield Thanksgiving Day game.
