Class of 2024 Starts to Take Shape

Hope everyone had a happy and fun Super Bowl weekend. I thought it was a great game, and quite a comeback by Kansas City. My pick to win was the 49ers because of their defense, but it seems like you need a top QB and offense to win in the NFL these days.

On the college front, the Hobart Statesmen are starting to get commitments from student athletes as the 2020 season approaches. The first is from New Hampshire, as all the way back on 12/9/19, St. Paul's School SR OL/DL Jack Johnston committed to play for Hobart.

St. Paul's is one of the best prep schools in the country, and they're pretty good at football too, winning the Evergreen and NEPSAC bowl titles in 2018 and 2019. Jack has great size (6'4" 235 lbs) and speed for a DT/DE and should be able to add depth to the Statesmen DL as a FY player. You can check out his highlights here.

Also joining the Statesmen as part of the #H20 team is nearby Pittsford Mendon/Sutherland HS (NY) SR RB Isaiah Cotton. He announced on 1/31/20 on twitter that he was:

"Very thankful and blessed to announce that I will be continuing my academic and football careers at Hobart College. Thank you to everyone who has helped along the way!"

His highlight reel shows he's a fast and elusive runner who can make catches (and tacklers miss) out of the backfield. Cotton isn't just a football player, however, as he won the Farash Foundation Scholarship for also being outstanding in the classroom.

Statesmen fans and family should be very excited both Johnston and Cotton will be joining the Hobart College Statesmen this fall.

Thanks as always for reading and I'll post more recruiting and other news as it happens.

Go 'Bart!
