The NCAA Selection Committee apparently viewed the defending National Champions Mount Union (9-1) as the fourth rated team in the North and the fact that the second ranked East team was only 322 miles away, they paired Hobart (9-1) with the Raiders.
This is not a surprise for some as the Committee has often paired the LL champions with the what has historically been the most dominant team in D3 history. At least this year, Mount Union will have to go on the road and the Statesmen get to host the Champs.
